Investigation into fatal accident involving delivery truck on Hwy 400 underway, Bracebridge OPP

The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fatal vehicle accident that occurred in Georgian Bay Township involving a delivery truck.

On November 22, 2024, at around 11:07 a.m., officers from the Bracebridge OPP, along with personnel from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP, Georgian Bay Fire, and Muskoka and Springwater Emergency Medical Services (EMS), were dispatched to a report of a rollover involving an unoccupied propane delivery truck on Highway 400 Southbound, near Go Home Lake Road.

The 65-year-old driver from Woodstock, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. As investigators from the OPP Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team examined the site, Highway 400 was closed to traffic. The road was reopened later that evening at approximately 10:00 p.m.
