High-flow nasal oxygen noninferior to noninvasive ventilation for acute respiratory failure

High-flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) is noninferior to noninvasive ventilation (NIV) for endotracheal intubation or death within seven days for most patients with acute respiratory failure, according to a study published online Dec. 10 in the Journal of the American Medical Association to coincide with the Critical Care Reviews Down Under meeting, held from Dec. 10 to 11 in Melbourne, Australia.
